| Procter and Gamble announces organisational reshuffle | Posted on 14/02/2008 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced several organisational changes to its executive team.
Deputy general counsel Steven W Jemison is take up the position of chief legal officer this summer following the announcement by James J Johnson that he is to retire from the post on June 1st 2008 after almost 35 years of service.
Mr Jemison arrived at P&G in 1981 as an attorney at the Labour & Employment Group; he quickly rose up the ranks to take up the position as secretary and associate general counsel in 2005 and deputy general counsel in 2006.
A G Lafley, P&G chairman and chief executive officer, commented: "Steve is an exceptional lawyer and leader who will continue to provide high levels of counsel and service in his new role."
Mr Lafley also praised the work of Mr Johnson, stressing that his service and dedication to the business had been "outstanding".
"He is broadly respected for the clarity of his advice and counsel which has enabled the company to operate to the highest possible standards," he added.
The firm also announced that John P Goodwin, currently vice-president of finance and accounting at Global Health and Wellbeing, has been named president of global snacks and pet care. Other news stories from 14/02/2008
