Cook names new manufacturing vice-president

5 February 2008 00:00 in Medical Company Restructures

Cook Incorporated, a Cook Medical company, has announced the appointment of Dave Volz to the position of vice-president of manufacturing operations.

Mr Volz has been employed by Cook for 17 years and has gleaned broad experience through the management of a broad range of the company's global operations.

He has previously held a number of key roles at the firm, including operations manager, production manager, supervisor of purchasing/raw materials warehouse and manager of incoming quality control before being promoted to director of operations last year.

Mr Volz graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree and volunteers as an assistant coach for the institutions' track and field team.

Scott Eells, executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Cook Incorporated, said: "Dave has done a superb job as a manager and administrator overseeing our manufacturing operations, and we felt it was time to recognise his contributions and give him a greater role in our manufacturing processes."

He added that Mr Volz is a proven leader at the firm who will lead the manufacturing operations division to greater future success.

In May 2006, Cook Medical announced the launch of a new women's health division dedicated to tackling conditions unique to women.
