Solstice welcomes new executive chairman
Solstice Neurosciences has welcomed a new executive chairman to its board of directors with the appointment of Dennis L Smith.
Mr Smith will replace James Thomas who will remain on the board after serving as chairman since the creation of Solstice in July 2004.
Shawn Patrick O’Brien, president and chief executive office at Solstice, welcomed Mr Smith to the board and stated that his experience would help Solstice to continue its sustained growth.
“His wide-ranging experience in the biopharmaceutical industry will undoubtedly prove to be extremely valuable as Solstice continues to evolve and broaden our product portfolio globally,” Mr. O’Brien said.
Mr Smith is expected to use his pharmaceutical industry expertise to provide guidance and leadership for growth and maximizing stockholder value while also working with management to develop Solstice’s strategic operations.
He has worked in the industry since 1973 with his most recent post at INO Therapeutics, a speciality pharmaceutical company, where he was president and chief executive officer.
Mr Smith also spent a number of years at DuPont Pharmaceutical Company, serving as president of US operations among numerous other positions during his time there.
