Smiths Medical exhibits at European Society of Anaesthesia congress

21 June 2007 00:00 in Medical Company Product News

Smiths Medical, part of the London-based conglomerate Smiths Group, recently exhibited successfully at the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) congress in Munich, Germany.

The business said it attracted "a steady stream of interest" through applying a "hands-on approach to product demonstration and display".

Operating in a number of sectors, including adult critical care, alternate care, anaesthesia, assisted reproduction, cardiac care and diabetes, Smiths Medical exhibited several key products.

The pneumatic VR1 emergency ventilator, featuring single knob tidal volume/ frequency control, was displayed by the group, as were its Portex Per-fit percutaneous kits designed for percutaneous tracheostomy procedure.

Alastair Ling, international marketing manager of medication delivery and pain management for Smiths Medical International, said: "The congress was a great success for Smiths Medical [in] promoting strong brand awareness among this important customer group and achieving a high level of interest in our range of anaesthesia products."

The ESA claims to hold the most prominent position in the community of anaesthesiologists in Europe and across the globe. It was formed from the merger of the former European Society of Anaesthesiologists, the European Academy of Anaesthesiology and the Confederation of European National Societies of Anaesthesiologists.
