Sigma Aldrich announces Aqua peptide partnership programme
6 June 2007 00:00 in Scientific
Sigma Aldrich is to launch an absolute quantitation (Aqua) peptide partnership programme.
This will see proteomic researchers ordering Aqua peptides from the company, with contributors receiving partnership pricing on custom orders.
Protein-Aqua is a strategy that allows for quantitative mass spectrometric studies of protein biomarkers and amino acid modifications. It allows for gene silencing validation at protein level through mass spectrometry.
Jennifer Williams, product manager for quantitative mechanics at Sigma-Aldrich, commented: "We clearly recognise the need within the proteomics community for a sizable library of stable-isotope labelled tryptic peptides and we look forward to partnering with our customers to make that library a reality.
"The Aqua peptide partnership program exemplifies our commitment to providing cutting-edge proteomics tools to the research community and to the development of innovative products in order to progress scientific research."
Sigma-Aldrich's chemical products and kits are used in scientific and genomic research by about eight million scientists.
The company recently presented at the Bank of America 2007 Healthcare Conference.
