Posted on 15/02/2007 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Servier Laboratories, the UK subsidiary of the Servier Research Group, has won the Therapy Franchise Award at the Pharmaceutical Marketing Effectiveness Awards (PMEA) ceremony.
The accolades are renowned as a benchmark for high achievement in the pharmaceutical industry, Servier said, noting that it achieved success for the second time, having won tributes at the 2006 event.
The honour was presented in recognition of Servier's achievements in its cardiovascular franchise. Servier UK is responsible for a range of products in numerous core therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoporosis.
Expressing delight at having been honoured at the ceremony, which he said was a "tremendous achievement", Eric Falcand, chief executive officer of Servier Laboratories, commented: "By investing time and resource at franchise level, we bring the benefits of our innovative medicines to well over a million patients in need." Servier noted that over 25 per cent of its annual turnover is typically invested into research.
Recently, the group announced plans to partner with the University College Dublin's (UCD's) Conway Institute with a five-year investment to establish the UCD Servier Centre for Translational Medicine. The new institute will aim to be a centre for excellence in translational medicine.
