Posted on 18/01/2007 in Medical Company Restructures BSN Medical has signed a global outsourcing contract for IT services with technology and services provider Unisys. Under the terms of the agreement, BSN Medical will pay Unisys an estimated $35 million (17.76 million pounds) over five years for a comprehensive IT services suite.
These services, including SAP and non-SAP systems, wide area networking, local area networking, messaging, desktop services and a user help desk will be provided to support 3,500 medical staff at BSN at 35 sites across the world.
Unisys, a company ranked in the top ten by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, will increasingly take responsibility for the management of IT infrastructure at BSN Medical during 2007.
Reinhard Quante, chief information officer of BSN Medical, said: "The next logical step in our company's growth strategy is standardising and extending our IT infrastructure.
He added that the company's goals required the services of an international IT partner with commitment to local service delivery which can deliver considerable advantages to the company and its clients.
Last month, BSN Medical announced that it had acquired the Cognon-Morin group, through its wholly-owned BSN Medical France Holding subsidiary, with the company retaining Cognon-Morin's production facilities and management.Other news stories from 18/01/2007
