Previous job - Life Science Sales Specialist

TERRITORY: East Anglia, main territory focus is Cambridge
PRODUCTS: Life science consumables and equipment
CUSTOMERS: Academic, research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, industrial laboratories

You will be spending around 80% of your time visiting customers in the designated territory and around 20% working from home covering general administration/booking appointments/providing customer quotations etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and execute a sales plan for Life Science products to ensure sales and margin targets are met or exceeded in your designated territory.

Maintain effective customer relationships and assure continued market penetration and profitability by making in depth calls to end user and purchasing contacts.

Assist with seminars, presentations, work days and attendance at industry events.

Keep abreast of competitor activity and market trends.

Establish relationships with key suppliers and negotiate improved terms as and when possible to increase profitability to the company.

Work to and achieve key performance indicators, including: sales performance, call planning, call rate and opportunity management and follow up.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
An excellent opportunity for a PhD educated life scientist to move into scientific sales. Candidates who hold an BSc/MSc will be considered, but will need to demonstrate at least 3 years of post-degree experience working in a laboratory.

No prior sales experience is required, however, evidence of a good understanding of the role, sales process and excellent commercial awareness is essential.
