TERRITORY: West Scotland
PRODUCTS: Arthroscopic Sports Medicine Products, Innovative Product Lines (Shoulder, Knee, Ankle, Elbow, Wrist, Tendon, Hip).
CLIENTS: Surgeons, Theatre Nurses, Procurement
ROLE: Responsible for representing products and services within a defined territory in the UK, achieving agreed annual and quarterly sales targets that are communicated at the beginning of each financial year while maintaining prescribed gross profit margins. Goals are to be achieved while upholding company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Customer Relationships: - Target and contact a certain number of customers within specified time scales - Establish working relationships with the key surgeons and key hospital personnel within the defined geographical area. - Review the account sales history & knowledge continuously and visit all accounts regularly to identify current usage, present & future needs and advise customers of new and exiting products / services available. - Prioritise sales and marketing activities to the most profitable accounts, without ignoring other current and potential customers.
- In collaboration with sales and marketing colleagues develop and maintain a comprehensive record and understanding of the defined territory and customer base
Product Promotion: In collaboration with colleagues understand current advertising, mail shot and product promotion (special offers etc) and assist when necessary. Facilitate and participate in clinical trials, workshops and exhibitions.
Product Knowledge: - Attend and participate in sales meetings and relevant product & personal skills development training programmes. - Participate in skills development and education programmes for customers, colleagues and 3rd parties as necessary. Attend relevant trade shows (with Marketing approval) - Ensure that any training taken is fully understood (including workshops), and request more if necessary. - Develop product and technical knowledge to a high level and be able to physically demonstrate the products to prospective clients - Have the confidence to advise surgeons during ‘live’ demonstrations where surgeons use the product Demo stock and samples: In collaboration with colleagues manage and maximise the use of demonstrate stock effectively, to achieve full sales potential. The territory manager will be issued with demonstration stock and as such is ultimately responsibility for its care, maintenance and safekeeping.
Reporting requirements - Properly report field incidents and generate weekly reports to provide feedback from the field. - Maintain accurate and timely records, which include customer reference sheets, product evaluation forms, strategic selling plans, weekly call reports, quote register, expenses and demonstration stock inventory. - Produce an annual business plan that details the process and methodology of achieving agreed sales targets for all defined product groupings.

Externally: Key Opinion leaders, key accounts, trade show contacts
Scope of authority: (e.g. recruitment, financial): - To be aware of budgetary responsibility for expenses (travel, etc). - To operate at all times in compliance with the SOPs and quality documentation - To arrange sales deals according to your own judgement within the parameters of company policy, procedures and sales and spending budget considerations. |
