CUSTOMERS: Urology and continence specialist nurses
Job Summary/ Role Requirements: " Provide an ethical professional urology / continence service to patients " Provide specialist continence support in SCI, MS, Urology & Gynaecology " Conducts patient appliance assessments and appliance user reviews where necessary " Initiate treatments or interventions as agreed by referring NHS Trust " Follow-up and carry out continence referrals where appropriate " Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with local continence and urology nurses in designated region " Provides specialist support in the form of educational teaching sessions as required " Assist the urology/continence nurse specialists in appliance assessment and reviews " Develop working relationships with key Health Care Professionals " Ensure patient information and records are kept up to date with treatment and interventions initiated in accordance with professional requirements " With excellent communication skills both written and verbal, ensure effective communication with all appropriate health care workers " Effectively able to plan own workload and manage time effectively |

" NHS Specialist Nurse Band 6 " NMC registered " Minimum 2 years Urology Nursing experience within the field of Urology or Continence " Specialist knowledge of working within SCI and MS disease areas " Knowledge of RCN/NICE guidelines & Essence of Care Benchmarks, NHS plan and experience of auditing " Experience in teaching patients, colleagues and NHS staff both formally and informally. " Excellent communication, and presentation skills both written and verbal " Effective decision maker and problem solving ability
