Job Description Title - European Product Manager - Healthcare Information Technology

Location - Oxford

Reporting to - European Marketing Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The essential function of this marketing role is to develop and implement customer centric differentiating strategies for the management and profitable growth of digital motion control technology and patient identification software solutions for application within the diagnostic laboratory markets.

Key Elements of Role:
- Strategy Development & Implementation:

o Interface for new initiatives between World Wide (WW) and Local Markets.
o Define and implement the strategy to market new products and solutions to support rapid growth in patient identification and sample tracking technologies using marketing best practice and planning activities.
o Demonstrate leadership through functional excellence using marketing principles to complete the Regional marketing plan (E.g. demonstrate correct execution of market targeting & segmentation techniques, SWOT analysis)
o Provide timely ongoing support to country sales and marketing teams, including customer facing activities, relative to best practice technical and commercial competence and expertise.
o Evaluate and recommend priorities for optimal deployment strategies.
o Evaluate and develop Key Opinion Leader (KOL) plan in conjunction with Clinical functions to ensure strategic alignment.
o Proactively manage compliance to EU legislation and regulations for specific aspects of the strategy.

- Portfolio Management:

o Accountable for the clarity, appropriate guidance and support to European Region for the effective execution of the product strategy.
o Work directly with local markets and key stakeholders to develop country tactical deployment plans.
o Develop technical customer presentations and marketing literature to support the local markets.
o Ensure that technical and commercial training materials are developed and delivered effectively to local markets.
o Provide and be accountable for portfolio's technical input used in Technical Information Database to support OJEU tender and contract submission documentation.
o Perform market research to drive effective product commercialization of new products and manage appropriate product deletions.
o Analyse a broad range of data, making strategic recommendations to maximize market potential in line with BD's budget and forecasting processes.

- Business Development:

o Align goals and activities to European and WW strategy by providing technical and market knowledge to drive future business development opportunities.
o Act as a technical and commercial liaison for healthcare informatics with BD's industry partners such as instrument companies.

Main Role and Responsibilities:

o Lead and define the regional strategy that will enhance the BD Digital Motion Control and Patient ID technology portfolio performance and relevance to the market place.
o Write the short and mid- term Sales and Marketing Action Plans (SMAP) for European markets.
o Working with Clinical and Medical Affairs, manage the KOL audience and be proactively develop new products and clinical data supporting the brand as well as championing its execution in targeted accounts and customer events.
o Develop technical customer presentations and marketing literature and translate the scientific data into commercial implications to drive sales.
o Proactively engage cross- functional (e.g. Clinical) and WW teams to gain regular input and consulting on next generation development options.
o Travel within Europe to visit customers and sales and marketing associates to act as technical expert.
Person Profile Experience:

- Experience in increasingly responsible positions in Sales &/or Marketing.
- Minimum of 3 years sales and marketing experience within the healthcare environment in a European market.
- Experience of hospital information systems and IT applications
- International marketing experience preferred.

Person Specification and Job Specific Skills:

- Degree level qualification
- Marketing business qualification desirable
- Broad understanding of healthcare market policies, management, tender management - A flexible team player with an aptitude to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation
- Be able to demonstrate progressive achievements especially in multidisciplinary environment.

Knowledge of specific procedures/practices:

- Knowledge of healthcare market and procedures, applicable regulatory and legislative practices, and medical distribution channels essential.
- Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and digital software applications

Complexity of duties:
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the business and industry in international markets.
- Participates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programmess and people.
- Ensures budgets and schedules meet business requirements
