TERRITORY: UK - Field based although will liaise with Head Office so central location preferred.
THERPAY AREA: Oncology
ROLE:
The Partnership Development Manager Oncology is accountable for piloting new and innovative ways of working with the Core Brand teams (Oncology) to test and provide guidance to the wider organisation on successful ways to align with the NHS for mutual benefit. The objective is to accelerate uptake within the core brand teams, minimise risk and ensure key learnings are applied. The PDM is also accountable for identifying and implementing brand specific joint working initiatives.
To achieve success it is critical that the Partnership Development Manager:
- Works with a systematic and cross functional brand team to advise and support on the strategic direction of current and future customers and their needs, prioritise investments (national and local) and track brand specific partnership projects with close alignment with Regional Business Directors.
- Develops innovative new brand specific projects with NHS customers and/or organisations that are involved in healthcare. Following evaluation, ensure the development and implementation of ‘scale up’ strategies
- Develops a network of influential customers and leverages these relationships to develop ‘joined up’ solutions to the needs of patients
- Works collaboratively across brands, finance, legal, medical and purchasing to develop the matrix teams required for project implementation.
Key Accountabilities:
-Creates well defined project implementation plans which engage all key stakeholders
- Works with internal colleagues to ensure that robust contracts are in place before project initiation.
- Prospects innovative ideas- project manages, pilots and evaluates brand specific commercial opportunities that are developed into key national strategies
- Uses networks and research to identify potential commercial opportunities aligned with core brand strategies and proposes them to the core brand teams for implementation
- Explores potential partnership opportunities with relevant organisations
- Demonstrates leading edge knowledge of business and service planning in the NHS, along with DOH commissioning processes and policies - World class commissioning etc
- Ensures all appropriate sign-off procedures are in place prior to service initiation , including line management approval meetings
- Develops a key relationship development plan that will support the introduction of brand specific projects
- Develops a key relationship development plan that will support the continued alignment of NHS changes to the evolving brand campaigns
- Use knowledge of NHS, networks and research to identify key partners (Oncology specific)
- Explores networking opportunities with new and innovative providers of NHS services
- Utilises networks to influence/create brand specific commercial opportunities for sanofi-aventis

Skills, Experience & Knowledge Requirements
- Must have worked in Onology previously
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Strategic NHS experience particularly of business and service planning or strong industry experience with a demonstrated ability of commercial decision making ( Oncology specific )
- Experience of programme management, managing multiple projects at various stages is essential, along with strong project management skills in developing PIDS, project briefs and proposals
- Broad based knowledge of the sanofi-aventis product portfolio, strategy and services is desirable and a demonstrated record of self taught technical knowledge is essential
- In-depth understanding NHS policy relevant to key service areas, along with NHS and DOH commissioning, financial flows and procurement processes, structures and policies
- Self driven with a demonstrated ability to set and achieve own objectives
- Demonstrated ability to develop and present commercial business cases and 2/3 year forecasts to secure funding and budgets
- Demonstrated ability to influence relationships and leverage knowledge internally across a matrix structure, to optimise opportunities and achieve shared goals
- Significant experience of customer negotiation skills
- Detailed understanding of ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application in a business environment |
