Job Description PRODUCTS = In-vitro diagnostics used to aid in the diagnosis of a range of serious health issues such as infectious diseases, cancer, and diabetes.

TTY = 1x North England, Scotland & Northern Ireland

CLIENTS = Hospital laboratories

ROLE: The successful applicant will become part of a close-knit sales team and will work in conjunction with individuals from within all areas of Abbott Diagnostics in order to gain new sales. Their primary role will be to drive sales and business development activities to a successful conclusion however this will be done working alongside other colleagues as very often our business opportunities are mutilidisiplinary, multi site and require coordination and management of the whole sales cycle with other sales team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1) prospecting for sales opportunities in laboratory sites where currently Abbott Diagnostics Division don't have business
2) developing new sales opportunities in these sites by promoting Abbott's brand, strategies & products leading to new sales growth

You will be tasked with focusing on specific, targeted opportunities at any one time rather than simply anywhere we don't have business

Based upon experience and performance a Sales Specialist may progress to a Senior Sales Specialist and then to an Executive Sales Specialist.
Person Profile 1/ A life science degree or equivalent is desirable.
2/ Experience of the diagnostics marketplace (employment history or worked at a senior level in a pathology laboratory).
3/ Demonstrate an understanding of NHS Laboratories.
4/ Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, energy and enthusiasm
5/ Preferably have a successful record of selling into the in-vitro diagnostic market place, specifically immunochemistry
6 / Excellent communication skills
7/ They must be willing to drive long distances, work flexible hours during the week and be prepared to stay away from home on average 1 night a week.
