PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Under the direction of the Business Unit Manager, direct and manage a sales team to achieve and exceed regional sales and activity targets for promoted brands.
In conjunction with the sales & marketing strategy, develop and implement a regional business plan focused on maximising sales through rigorous implementation of key account plans for primary and secondary care organisations.
Ensure continual improvement in the quality, knowledge and skills of the sales team through training, development and motivation in order to achieve business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assume responsibility for achieving & exceeding regional sales and activity targets within agreed budgets and resources.
2. Engage and manage Primary Care Organisations (PCOs) to develop protocols favourable to promoted brands. Develop, implement & deliver a key account plan for each PCO, prioritising each account for influence and business potential. Target sales activity towards prioritised accounts to maximise performance.
3. Develop, implement and deliver a key account plan for each target hospital. Prioritise each account based on influence over prescribing, and potential for in-hospital sales. Maximise formulary opportunities for promoted brands. Define & record in Phoenix all formulary processes, and note the stage at which each promoted brand is in that process.
4. Identify and develop key regional opinion leaders in PCO, Hospital and GP communities. Develop advocates willing to champion Lundbeck and promoted brands.
5. Ensure effective integration in-house and contract sales teams (where applicable) to ensure that all key accounts are managed according to the regional plan.
6. Recruit, develop & retain high calibre people for all sales roles.
7. Lead and motivate a sales team responsible for business outcomes.
8. Design & run regular sales team meetings focused on local implementation of the marketing plan and meeting locally identified opportunities.
9. Minimise time off road, turnover and territory vacancy to below industry average. Maximise customer-facing time in all sales roles.
10. Manage all personnel according to Lundbeck and/or contract organisation HR policies.
11. Consistently apply minimum management standards and operate within the ABPI & business code of ethics.
12. Achieve minimum manager and team admin standards for communication with ETM system.
