Interview techniques

You are being interviewed because the employer wants to employ you, not because he wants to trip you up or embarrass you.

During the interview, the employer will be searching out your strengths and weaknesses, evaluating you on your qualifications, skills and intellectual capacity. The employer should try to determine your attitudes, aptitudes, stability, motivation and maturity.

The interview is one of the most important events in a person's working life. The short space of time spent with the interviewer may determine the entire future course of one's career.

Interviewers are continually amazed at the number of candidates who come to job interviews without any apparent preparation and only the vaguest idea of what they are going to say. Some candidates even create the impression of indifference by acting in a casual manner. At the other extreme, a few candidates work themselves up into such a state that they appear to be in the last stages of nervous fright.

These traits of inexperience can be avoided by knowing a little of what is actually expected of you during the interview and by making a few simple preparations in advance.

This brief guide, combined with the support, briefings and advice provided by your Zenopa Account Manager, will provide you with a framework to present yourself in the best light.

If you can’t make the interview or decide the job is not for you,
