Immunology is the study of the immune system. It looks at the interaction of the body with pathogens. An immunoassay is a test that measures the concentration of a substance in a sample, such as serum or urine. It is an analytical technique in which the reaction of an antibody binding with its specific antigen is measured to determine the level of infection. Common methods of analysis are enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA), radioimmunoassay (RIS) and magnetic immunoassay (MIA).
