UCB is an R&D driven company, investing over 21% of sales in R&D every year. UCB has a rich and productive pipeline of large and small molecules with eleven novel compounds (including four large, antibody-based molecules and seven small, chemically-derived molecules) that are in clinical development, addressing 13 different types of severe disease, from multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease to rheumatoid arthritis. Out of the eleven novel compounds, many are in late stage development (Phase III or filing). UCB believes that this pipeline possesses immense potential for future growth as well as improving the quality of life for patients.
