In co-operation with the clinical chemistry pioneer Prof. Poul Astrup, M.D., RADIOMETER introduced the world's first acid-base analysers in 1954. Ever since, RADIOMETER has continued to innovate. The product range has been expanded over the years to measure blood gases transcutaneously, which is especially helpful to monitor premature babies with breathing difficulties and to assess critical limb ischemia. Oximetry variables and metabolites are now routinely measured together with blood gases.
