Company Overview ProStrakan is a rapidly growing specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for the treatment of unmet therapeutic needs in major markets. Our therapeutic focus is on bone diseases, women's health and issues relating to the ageing male. With the general ageing of the world's population, these are areas set to experience high growth in demand for effective products in the early 21st century. The company also develops and markets products outside this therapeutic focus. Employing around 280 people, ProStrakan is headquartered in Scotland with commercial operations throughout the rest of the UK and continental Europe. The company's Research facilities are situated in Paris. Development capabilities are located both at Headquarters in Scotland and in Paris. Product Overview
- Adcal - is a calcium supplement and can be used as an adjunct to specific therapy for osteoporosis and in the correction of calcium deficiency in the diet. It can also be used as a phosphate binding agent in the management of renal failure.
- Adcal D3 - is used as an adjunct to specific therapy for osteoporosis and in situations requiring therapeutic supplementation of malnutrition e.g. pregnancy.
- Rectogesic - is indicated for the relief of pain associated with chronic anal fissures.
- Isotard XL - is a once daily prophylactic treatment for angina pectoris.
